Care leavers and higher education

What Works for Children’s Social Care has published a report looking at care leavers and higher education. Research carried out by the CASCADE centre at Cardiff University shows a gap between the expectations of young people who have been in care and their peers, with 31% less likely in Year 9 to expect to attend university, increasing to about 43% when they are in Year 13.
