Child mental health services

A group of children’s and mental health charities have published a report calling for the Government to increase investment in child mental health care in England. The report states that around 20% of young people in England have a diagnosable mental health condition, but the NHS can currently support only around 40% of those in need. In addition to increased investment, recommendations include: a comprehensive children and young people’s mental health workforce plan; and an independent government-commissioned rapid review into the increase in children and young people’s mental health needs.
