The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has released Households below average income statistics showing the number of children who are living in poverty in the UK. Findings include: 4.1 million children are living in poverty, i.e. in households with an income of 60% or less than the median after housing costs; of which 2.8 million are in severe poverty, in households with an income of 50% or less than the median after housing costs.
