Children and young people who display harmful sexual behaviour

The Centre of expertise on child sexual abuse (CSA) has published key messages from research on children and young people who display harmful sexual behaviour (HSB).The research looks at: what is known about children and young people who display HSB; HSB and the internet; effective assessment of children and young people displaying HSB; effective interventions; and preventative approaches. The NSPCC has developed an evidence-informed framework and accompanying multi-agency audit tool to help local areas to assess their practice, processes and leadership and to develop and improve their multi-agency responses to children displaying HSB. The NSPCC Scale-up Unit offers support package that helps local areas to undertake the audit and implement the framework effectively in their area. For more information contact: hsb@nspcc.org.uk
