Children’s rights’ ‘Worryingly low’ on political agenda, charities warn

A new report, led by the Children’s Rights Alliance for England (CRAE) and backed by 90 organisations, marks the start of a United Nations’ examination of the use of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in the UK. It finds that children’s rights have “regressed in many areas since the UN’s last examination in 2016” and highlights that the government’s response to the Covid-19 pandemic has “not prioritised children’s rights and their voices in vital policy and legislative decisions”.
