A coalition of almost 100 children’s charities is warning the government that successive policy “failures” over the last five years are eroding children’s rights in England. The coalition says that “children remain worryingly low on the political agenda in England” and their rights and views are “regularly overlooked”. England is behind other parts of the UK in safeguarding children’s rights, the charities warn. They are particularly concerned by an “anti-rights rhetoric” and plans to overhaul the Human Rights Act which presents “a grave and immediate threat to the rights of all children”. Read more.
