The Children (Abolition of Defence of Reasonable Punishment) (Wales) Act 2020 comes into force on 21 March 2022. From this day on, physically punishing children will be illegal in Wales. The Welsh Government has created a webpage bringing together resources and background information on the change in law including a series of factsheets for: people who work with children; the education workforce; and the social services workforce.
