Plight of homeless pupils a national scandal, Shelter warns

Research by the housing charity found that more than half (56 per cent) of teachers UK-wide have worked at a school with children who were homeless or became homeless. The charity warns there are around 136,000 homeless children living in Britain, facing a raft of challenges at school including hunger, tiredness, missing out on lessons and poor hygiene. Read more.
