The Nuffield Family Justice Observatory (Nuffield FJO) has published a report on findings from a study looking at the removal of new-born babies from their mother in response to safeguarding concerns from the perspectives of parents, professionals in children’s social care, health services and the courts. Draft best practice guidelines, developed through a research study involving professionals and parents in eight local authorities and seven corresponding NHS trusts in England and Wales have also been published.
