Spending review: social care targets

Community Care reports on the priority outcomes and metrics for supporting ‘disadvantaged and vulnerable children and young people’ in England required by the Treasury. Measures introduced to monitor the success of the Autumn spending review include: the percentage of agency social workers in the children’s services workforce, the proportion of council children’s services rated inadequate, school absence rates for children in care, take-up and outcomes from the Supporting Families programme for households with multiple needs, and the number of children waiting over 18 months to be matched with an adoptive family.
