Tory MPs accused of adding fuel to ‘culture war’ in education report

White working-class pupils have been let down by decades of neglect in the English education system, according to a controversial MPs’ report which warns that schools could be breaking the law by promoting “divisive” terminology like “white privilege”.

MPs on the Conservative-dominated Commons education committee examined why poor white children underperform compared with other disadvantaged groups, and rejected the government’s view that poverty is solely to blame.
