Young children missing vital reviews due to health visitor shortage

Despite rising cost-of-living pressures, children and families are no longer receiving the support they need due to insufficient numbers of health visitors, according to a recent UK-wide survey of frontline health visitors. The findings, published by the Institute of Health Visiting (IHV), indicate that 85 per cent of health visitors believed there are not enough people in the role, and only seven per cent feel confident that all families would be able to access the support they needed if a problem was found.
