The Social Security Advisory Committee (SSAC) has published a report looking at the impacts of the benefit system on young people aged 16 to 24 who live independently of parents or other guardians in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The report calls for Staying Put arrangements, whereby children in foster care in England can stay with their carer until the age of 21, to be extended UK-wide.
