The YMCA has published a report looking at young people’s experiences of youth services. A survey of 998 young people aged between 11 and 16 from across England and Wales included questions on the needs of young people. When asked what stops them spending time with friends outside of school: 32% said they did not feel safe on streets; 25% said they feared gangs; and 29% said they did not have anywhere to go.
