Child mental health

The Royal College of Psychiatrists has published a report on the mental health of children under five in the UK. The report discusses the prevalence and impact of mental health conditions in children under five and looks at interventions to treat mental health conditions. The report sets out recommendations including: the introduction of a national competencies framework for work with children under five; basic training for psychiatrists on assessment and interventions with respect to parent-infant relationships; and services for babies, young children and their families should be co-produced with those with lived experience.
