The Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee has published a report on the use of temporary accommodation to house homeless children in England. The report raises concerns around the use of unsuitable accommodation and the impact this can have on children’s health, wellbeing and development. Recommendations for government include making it a requirement for all local authorities in England to carry out mandatory inspections of housing before being used as temporary accommodation.
