The Department for Education (DfE) has published findings from research by Kantar Public into behavioural drivers and barriers to multi-agency partnership working for children’s safeguarding in England. Findings include: slimmed down strategic meetings enabled more active engagement from senior leaders, but left wider organisations and frontline staff feeling less able to contribute; and consistent communication helped build positive relationships, but the volume of information made it hard for frontline staff to assess what was relevant. Recommendations include: creating an established partnership voice, such as a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), to facilitate consistent processes and communication across agencies; and giving frontline staff opportunities and support to engage, provide input and receive feedback on interventions.
