Every Child Protected Against Trafficking UK (ECPAT UK) has published a report about unaccompanied migrant children going missing from accommodation in the UK. Findings from a freedom of information request, with the assistance of Article 39 and the Helen Bamber Foundation, include: four to five children went missing each month from Home Office-commissioned hotel accommodation; and the total number of children going missing was 45 in a ten-month period. The report calls for the government to prioritise cross-departmental collaboration to ensure the lawful care and protection of unaccompanied children.
