The Parents, Families and Allies Network (PFAN) has published a report based on the experiences of parents who have lived experience of children’s social care, professionals who have worked in social care and social work academics. The report analyses the current social care system and offers suggestions for change including: making the system more supportive, humane and inclusive; ensuring families’ needs are met early; improving legal representation in family courts; better support in care proceedings; a better response to domestic violence; and statutory guidance to address the specific needs of disabled children and their families.
