The Sutton Trust and the Social Mobility Commission explored the backgrounds of around 5,000 individuals in high ranking positions across a broad range of British society and discovered that inequality and privilege endure with opportunity denied to vast majority of the population. There was a high correlation between attending private schools and/or going to either Oxford or Cambridge University and holding positions of power. Read more.
