Kinship care

Foundations has published a report on the types of support provided by local authorities (LAs) to kinship carers in England. The report includes a survey of 80 LAs and interviews with practitioners. Findings show: 88% of LAs have a designated kinship care team/worker; support consists of training, financial, legal and emotional support; and 48% of LAs reported making targeted efforts to facilitate engagement with kinship families in a culturally sensitive way.
